GeoData Technologies expands into new offices

SANDPOINT — Local software developers GeoData Technologies, Inc. are preparing to expand into new offices in the Sandpoint Center Business Suites, according to President and CEO Mark Williams. The new space is part of a program negotiated between Panhandle State Bank and the city of Sandpoint to provide first-class housing to appropriate business start-ups at favorable pricing.

GeoData Technologies’ flagship product, SiteSeer3D, harnesses the power of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to allow real estate agents, tourism operators and others to build interactive websites to give customers a three-dimensional virtual tour of almost any area in the country from the comfort of their computer. “Home buyers love SiteSeer3D because they can evaluate the property, neighborhood and schools in addition to the house,” Williams said. “Real estate agents love SiteSeer3D because it helps them shorten the sales cycle, improve customer service and generate leads and listings.”

Tourism promoters can provide potential visitors an opportunity to sample their area without spending a penny. “VisitIdaho.org” for example, shows fly-over tours that highlight all the activities and attractions in an area, assuring that the would-be tourist knows all the options.

GeoData’s use of space in the bank building is part of an economic development program negotiated between Panhandle State Bank and the city of Sandpoint, and is administered by the Economic Development Corporation of Sandpoint. “We’re really pleased to have GeoData involved in this program, “ says EDCS vice-president Alison Burgstahler. “They’re local people who have a demonstrated commitment to the community. They have a world-wide market, and software development is obviously a green industry.”

GeoData Technologies, Inc. is participating in a program of business incubation with SIRTI, the technology incubator in Spokane. This meets the EDCS requirement that residents in space offered for incubated companies be actively participating in a counseling program. “SIRTI has excellent resources and a great track record in the high-tech sector,” notes EDCS Exec. Director Wally Schmidt. “We’re really pleased to have them involved with GeoData.”

The Sandpoint Center Business Suites offer a deluxe setting in a convenient location and offer access to high speed Internet connections that are critical to GeoData’s ability to deliver services.
