Loren R. Wittrock, 72, of Clark Fork, Idaho, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at Coffelt Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Heron Cemetery in Heron, Mont.

The family suggests memorials to the Clark Fork Valley Ambulance, P.O. Box 464, Clark Fork, ID 83811.

Loren was born March 31, 1938, in Sioux, Falls, S.D., the son of Ralph and Margaret Wittrock. At an early age he moved with his family to Nevis, Minn., where he received his early elementary education. He later lived in Kennewick Wash., and then returned to Sioux Falls, where he graduated high school.

Loren began his working career at Boeing in Seattle. He became a teamster while in Seattle, later working for many years as a truck driver on road and dam construction. At the time of his retirement he was a member of the Spokane Teamsters Local 690.

He was married to Pamela VanDerhoff on Dec. 23, 1981. They moved to Clark Fork in 1992, where he has since resided.

Loren was an avid hunter spending many seasons in the Bob Marshall Wilderness in Montana, an enthusiastic fisherman, and horseman.

In retirement he raised Black Angus cattle. He also took satisfaction in achieving 30 years of sobriety in AA.

Loren is survived by his wife Pamela of Clark Fork; four children, David of Washington, LeeRoy of Illinois, Linda Kingsbury of California and Eric of Montana;  a sister, Carol Curtis of Kalispell, Mont.; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
