Clarence T. 'Lindy' Linstrum, 96
Clarence T. “Lindy” Linstrum, 96, of Sandpoint, Idaho, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at Luther Park.
Memorial services will be conducted 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Pastor Steve Nickodemus, officiating.
Family and friends are invited to a reception immediately following the service at Luther Park, 510 S. Olive, in Sandpoint.
Clarence was born Feb. 1, 1914, in Winona, Minn., the son of Clarence and Delya Linstrum. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Fresno, Calif., and later attended Fresno State. He also attended Boeing School of Aeronautics.
On Feb. 18, 1938 he married Dale Covert and they had celebrated their 72nd anniversary this year.
He was a mechanic and taught during World War II. He taught engine mechanics working on Allison engines.
Following World War II, he worked in produce packing and shipping in Santa Maria, Calif., retiring as office manager in the early 1960’s.
Following retirement he lived in Arryo Grande, Calif., and became involved with New Tribes. He also served with New Tribes Missions in Sanford, Fla., for 12 years.
He moved to Sandpoint in June 2008, where he attended Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Lindy is survived by his wife, Dale of Sandpoint; three children, Priscilla Weiss of Aptos, Calif., Donna Jelsvik of Sandpoint and John Linstrum of Spokane, Wash.; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
The family suggests memorials be given to Bonner Community Hospice, P.O. Box 1448, Sandpoint, Idaho 83864.
