Jack H. Plumb, 89, passed away in Kootenai, Idaho, on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Pastor Barry Johnson, New Song Bible Church, will be officiating with interment in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Jack was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Aug. 18, 1921, the son of Roy and Margaret Plumb. He attended school in Coeur d’Alene and joined the U.S. Navy the day after Pearl Harbor. He served six years with the Navy seeing action in both the Pacific and the Atlantic.

He married Florence West in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Aug. 6, 1951, and moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, that same year.

He worked as a welder in Hanford and also became a pipeline welder. He worked for Fred Kennedy in Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and also for Pacific Gas and Trans-mission North-west out of Samuels. He worked on both the Noxon and Cabinet Gorge dams.

Jack enjoyed fishing and fished commercially for bluebacks on Lake Pend Oreille.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, in 2002.

Memorials may be made to the Panhandle Animal Shelter, 870 Kootenai Cutoff Road, Ponderay, Idaho 83852, in memory of Jack Plumb.
