| November 10, 2010 6:00 AM

SANDPOINT — A Sandpoint woman was cited for violating the rules of the road following a collision with a tractor-trailer on Fifth Avenue last week.

Sheri Lyne Kuhlman was ticketed under a statute which prohibits a motorist from moving from a stopped position unless they can execute the move with reasonable safety. The offense is an infraction which carries an $85 fine.

Kuhlman and a passenger in her Pontiac Grand Am were injured when the vehicle was struck by a southbound semi. Kuhlman and 69-year-old passenger Evelyn J. Griffin had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The truck driver, 63-year-old Albert L. Argabright of Whitefish, Mont., was not injured in the Nov. 3 collision north of Larch Street. There is no record of Argabright being cited in connection with the collision.

Neither drivers’ directions of travel were disclosed in an Idaho State Police news release and there was no police report accompanying Kuhlman’s citation. At the scene of the crash, Argabright’s semi was in the inside southbound lane of travel and witnesses said Kuhlman was appeared to be attempting to access Fifth from the west.
