Sandpoint Volleyball Club to hold tryouts on Sunday

| November 10, 2010 6:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Sandpoint has long been known as a volleyball hotbed within the inland northwest, and much of that stems from a thriving club program.

The Sandpoint Volleyball Club will be holding tryouts for the 2011 season on Sunday, Nov. 14, from noon to 7 p.m. at Farmin-Stidwell Elementary School.

The SVBC is a sanctioned Evergreen Region USA Volleyball Club, striving to give females between the ages of 8-18 years-old an opportunity to excel in the sport while learning valuable life skills based on teamwork, and respect for self and others.

The tryout fee is $15, and a parents meeting will take up the first half hour of each player’s tryout time. Any and all athletes looking to play club volleyball during the upcoming season must attend the tryouts, unless given prior permission from the SVBC director.

The U12’s will tryout from noon - 1 p.m., followed by the U14’s from 1:15-3 p.m., the U16’s from 3:15-5 p.m. and the U18’s from 5:15-7 p.m.
