SANDPOINT — After its recent move into its new facility at 820 Main St., the DayBreak Center  celebrated with a ribbon cutting sponsored by the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce.

Offering respite care for current caregivers, the DayBreak Center offers a safe, home-like, and nurturing environment for seniors suffering from the onset of dementia. Knowing their loved one is in good hands, the center provides caregivers with free time to run errands or take an afternoon off.

As a non-profit organization, DayBreak Center prides itself in providing family support through dementia therapy, DayBreak Center administrator Norma White said. Through community support and generous donations, the center is able to offer affordable and realistic rates. They supply caregivers with support, much needed breaks and additional community resources to assist in the care of loved ones.

Open from the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the center has a variety of programs that include exercise and therapeutic activities. These activities are designed to stimulate memory, health and provide socialization time for seniors.
