Nesbitt, Becker and Berkley make all-league team
CLARK FORK — Senior running back/linebacker Nate Nesbitt, senior lineman James Becker and junior quarterback Stillman Berkley were each named to the 2010 All-North Star League football team, as voted on by the league’s coaches.
“I am extremely happy to see us get three guys on the all league team,” said Wampus Cats head coach Brian Arthun, who felt each player more than deserved to be on the team.
Nesbitt carried the load offensively for the Cats this year, scoring 20 touchdowns and going off for nearly 400 yards rushing against Mullan in his best game of the season.
“He had a huge senior year, really stepped it up and carried the offensive load,” said Arthun. “He could hurt teams in so many different ways. He ran for touchdowns, passed for touchdowns and even caught touchdowns for our football team. His explosiveness and playmaking ability will be missed.”
Arthun said Becker was as dominating on the line as any player he’s coached at Clark Fork. His power and explosiveness caused fits for opposing lines, finishing the season with 11 sacks and as one of the top three tacklers.
Berkley will be one of the top players in the North Star League as a senior next season.
“He was arguably the best quarterback in the league this year,” said Arthun of his signal caller. “His toughness, leadership and competitiveness are why he made the team.”
