Alma Ree Syth, 81

Alma Ree Syth, 81, passed away on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, in Sandpoint, Idaho. 

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel.  Pastor Jon Pomeroy, Sandpoint Church of God,  officiated and interment followed in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Calling hours, for Alma, were on Tuesday, Nov. 23, from 2-6 p.m. at Coffelt Funeral Service.

Alma was born on Aug. 1, 1929, in Echo Lake, Mont., the daughter of Albert and Mary Crowley. She grew up and attended school in Kalispell, Montana where she also worked in the county hospital.

She married Arthur “Art” Syth on Aug. 1, 1947, in Kalispell, Mont. The family lived in Heron, Montana where she raised her family and worked on the family farm. In 1964, the family moved to Sandpoint for health reasons. 

She enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling with her husband Art.  She also liked her garden, her flowers, painting, doing craftwork, and reading. 

She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a lifetime member of the Auxiliary.

She is survived by three children, Rose (and Dave) Kalb in Sagle, Gail (and Dick) Inman in Sandpoint, and Carl (and Diane) Syth in Sandpoint; seven grandchildren, David (and Laura) Kalb, Cami Kemp, Terrae Heckert, Travis Inman, (Chad) and Jamie Vineyard, (Ryan) and Jessie Vermeer and Jennie Syth; 15 great-grandchildren, Bryce and Brett Kemp, Jasmine Kalb, Roseanna Forward, Mikayla and Jessica Inman, Payton Nachtigal, Jason Bennett and Isaac Vermeer, Chase and Mason Vineyard, Justise and Carlly Syth, Paul Daniels and Teresa Johnson; and a great-great-granddaughter, Emily Johnson; and a nephew, Ervin Eid.

Alma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Art; and two sisters, Eva Music and Vera Eid.
