Curran leads Bulldog girls swim team over Vikings

COEUR d’ALENE — Shannon Curran won both the 50 and 100 freestyle events to lead the Sandpoint girls to a convincing 66-28 win over Coeur d’Alene in an Inland Empire League swim dual at the Kroc Center on Wednesday night.

Michele Rockwell won the 500 free, Selena Warburton the 100 breaststroke and Keeley Pearlstein the 100 backstroke the Bulldog girls, who also won the 200 medley and 400 free relays.

Chris Mann won the 200 and 500 free, Barry Wilson the 50 free, Graham Cole the 100 breaststroke to lead the Bulldog boys team, which also won the 400 relay en route to a 52-48 team loss to the Vikings.

Sandpoint’s next meet is Oct. 9 at Clarkston.
