Kathryn 'Kat' (Kelley) McGinnis, 58
Kathryn “Kat” (Kelley) McGinnis, 58, of Clark Fork, Idaho, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at Coffelt Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Buddy Jones, officiating. The family suggests memorials to the East Bonner County Library, P.O. Box 219, Clark Fork, Idaho 83811.
Kath-ryn was born Feb. 24, 1952 in Galves-ton, Texas, the daughter of Calvin and Joyce Kelley. She was raised in Galveston and attended school there.
In 1987 she moved to North Idaho where she could enjoy the beauty of the mountains. She married Jerry McGinnis in Coeur d’Alene and they have made their home in Clark Fork.
Kathryn was a multi-talented individual who worked at various occupations throughout her life, most recently at Coldwater Creek, the Big Sky Pantry in both Clark Fork and Noxon, Mont., and at various restaurants in the area. Wherever she lived or worked she was loved for her compassion and servant’s heart.
She was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Worship Center, enjoyed reading, gardening, canning, and John Denver music. Above all, she deeply loved her husband and family.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry; children, John (Rachel) Wightwick of Clark Fork and Shannon (Justin) Pankow of Sour Lake, Texas; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a brother: George Kelley of Alvin, Texas; and a sister, Linda Brewer of Meridian, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents.
