Ralph Henry Hutchinson, 75

Ralph Henry Hutchinson, 75, passed away at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, surrounded by those who loved him.

Ralph was born Sept. 17, 1935 in Nanticoke, Pa. He was the third son of Alvin and Hilda (Albrecht) Hutchinson.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Robert and Harold Hutchinson.

 He is survived by his children; daughters Delee (Joe) Baker, Denise (Mike) Angelo, Payge (Rick) Hutchinson, Susan (Bob) Chandler, and Rachel (Jason) Mc- Devitt, and his son, Dean (Kim) Hutchinson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Stepheney (Jason),  Taylor (Jeff),  Lucas, Morgan, Cooper, Zachary (Jesse), Sally (Michael), Piper, Jordan, Cole, Beau, Cal and another to be born in 2011. He will also be lovingly remembered by his four great-grandchildren, and the three more who are on their way.

Ralph spent his school years in Pennsyl-vania, and joined the Marine Corps at the age of 17. After being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, he earned a degree in economics and spent the next 17 years working for the IRS, during which time he was transferred to Idaho, where he made his home. After retiring from the IRS, he spent time working various jobs throughout Africa, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand.

After retirement, Ralph enjoyed picking up the hobbies that he had left off during his extensive traveling. He loved fishing, trapping, hunting and was a voracious reader. He loved spending time with his family, and had a vast network of “cronies” that he spent much of his time with and was known for his deep loyalty to anyone he called a friend. Ralph loved Jeopardy and played a mean game of Trivial Pursuit.
