Conference empowers women in business

| October 12, 2010 7:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Packed with a powerful line-up of speakers including the regional director of Lewis-Clark State College, Cyndie Hammond, and Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce president and CEO, Kate McAlister, the 2010 Empowering Women in Business Conference brings education, inspiration, humor, and fun to women throughout the region on Thursday, Nov. 4.

“We invite professional working women, business owners, and future entrepreneurs to network and build their relationships with women throughout the area,” said Marcia Phillips, chairman of the Women in Business committee hosting the event.  “You’ll be sure to gain valuable contacts and tips to take back to your office and home.”

“Retooling for Success,” is the theme of this year’s conference. Speakers will focus on managing life’s transitions through partnerships, strong relationships, and personal communication. Come hear the stories of the “risks” and paths these women chose to take to become triumphant in both their business and personal lives. And of course, there will be plenty of time for networking and laughter at the conference.

The Empowering Women in Business conference will be held at Coldwater Creek Auditorium, located at their headquarters at 1 Coldwater Creek Drive.  The cost is $55 for Chamber members and $65 for non-members and includes a light breakfast, lunch, and materials. Booth sponsorships are still available, so please contact the Greater Sandpoint Chamber if you wish to have your business “seen” at the conference.

The event is hosted by the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business committee and is sponsored by STCU, Coldwater Creek, Horizon Credit Union, Pend Oreille Health Care, K102 and the Bonner County Daily Bee.
