Virginia Mae 'Ginny' Elder, 84

Virginia Mae “Ginny” Elder, 84, of Sagle, Idaho, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at her home.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel, with Dale Coffelt officiating.

Virginia was born May 1, 1926, in Sandpoint, Idaho,  the daughter of Harold and Gladys Graves. She attended local schools and graduated from the eighth grade at Kootenai and attended Sandpoint High School.

She married Edgar “Bud” Elder on Dec. 26, 1953,  in Sandpoint. She was a 4-H leader, teaching sewing.

She worked as a checker for Safeway, M & J Market and the Warehouse Market. She also tended bar at the Tam for many years.

Ginny enjoyed bowling, and making quilts for her family. The real joy of her life was fishing and working in her garden.

She is survived by four children, Debra Broehl of Sandpoint, Linda Williams of Sagle, Barbara Chapman of Sagle, and Jim Morrow of Missoula, Mont.; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Karen Brown of Colburn, Idaho, and Kay Loe of Twin Falls, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Sally; and a sister, Joanne Hankey.
