Wampus Cats dominate in 52-14 win

MULLAN — Stillman Berkley threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns and also caught a touchdown pass, and the Wampus Cats used a 32-point second quarter to distance themselves from the Tigers and earn a 52-14 win Friday night in North Star League action.

Nate Nesbitt ran for 89 yards and scored two touchdowns and also received for 142 yards and two scores as Clark Fork defeated Mullan for the second time this year.

Kale White added a 65 yard interception return — his sixth pick of the season.

“Second quarter was definitely the quarter for us,” head coach Brian Arthun said.

 “We put up 32 points and just exploded. The interception return helped. It was big for us. Stillman threw the ball really well. it was a great quarter.”

James Becker led the defense with 16 tackles and a fumble recovery.

The Wampus Cats are scheduled to travel to Lakeside Friday.
