COEUR d’ALENE — U.S. Bank has named Rick Murray as its region president for the North Idaho Palouse Region. Murray succeeds Rick Barton, who retired earlier this year.

Murray has worked for U.S. Bank and its predecessor companies for 36 years, and has been a lifelong resident of North Idaho. Most recently, he served as vice president and team leader for U.S. Bank’s North Idaho Palouse business banking group, and over the course of his career, he has served in a number of functions within the bank, in both commercial lending and consumer banking.

“We’re excited that Rick has stepped into this position to lead our banking operations in North Idaho,” said Jim Grigsby, division manager for U.S. Bank’s community banking group in Idaho and Washington. “His deep roots in the community, along with his extensive expertise in so many facets of the financial services industry, will make him a great fit.”

As region president, Murray will be responsible for overseeing commercial banking and retail branches in communities located throughout north Idaho, ranging from Sandpoint to Grangeville.

Murray attended North Idaho College and Lewis Clark State College, and earned a graduate degree in banking and finance from the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington in Seattle.

An active member of the local philanthropic and business community, he serves as a member of the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce and Coeur d’Alene Sunrise Rotary Club, and is a board member of Tesh, Inc. and the Idaho Council on Economic Education.
