Wampus Cats earn share of NSL title
WALLACE — In their final regular season tune-up before districts, the Wampus Cats scored a solid 26-24, 20-25, 25-16 and 25-23 over the Miners on Friday night in North Star League volleyball action at Wallace High School.
Brocklynn Thornton led the Wampus Cats (10-4, 7-1 NSL) with 14 kills, Mariah Miller added 31 digs, Celeste Komanec 33 set assists and Dimi Kailang five blocks and three aces as the Cats and Lakeside Knights shared the regular season North Star League title with identical 7-1 records in league play.
“I’m really proud of how everybody played,” Clark Fork head coach Michelle Adams said. “There was no doubt they wanted this game.”
Amanda Pehan led the attack for Wallace (3-9, 2-6) with 16 kills and eight blocks.
Clark Fork awaits the winner of Tuesday’s district playoff match up between Mullan and Kootenai, and will host the winner on Thursday, at 6 p.m. at Clark Fork High School in a state play-in game.
