Cross country teams ready for regionals

Freshman Devan Fitzpatrick and junior Jenny Van Ooyen will help lead the SHS girls cross country team at the 4A Region 1 cross country meet Thursday at Hells Gate Park in Lewiston.

Also competing for the Bulldog girls will be Molly Burgstahler, Aubrie Perry, Sydney Foster, Becca Cloud and Calena Lawson. Leading the boys team will be seniors Danny Pfeifer, Jimmy Mathews and Evan Rains, along with Alex Charvoz, Mason Foster, Sam Levora and James Cartwright.

“I expect both teams to be in the hunt for the regional team title, as well as a few kids who could win the individual regional title as well,” said head coach Matt Brass.

“Moscow has strong girls and boys teams this year, and we line up fairly even on both sides with them, so it will be close. Our training has been going very well, and the kids are ready to race.”
