Avalanche Soccer Club announces spring registration
SANDPOINT — The Avalanche Soccer Club is presently accepting applications for the spring 2011 season. For further information on U11 through U18 playing and coaching opportunities, please email club director Scott Clawson at “northidahoavalanche@gmail.com” by Oct. 30.
Any players registered with an IYSA club team in the fall would not be eligible with the Avalanche in the spring. Some of our teams have openings, so let us know of your interest.
Avalanche Soccer is committed to competitiveness, player development, quality playing time, having fun and sportsmanship. The club is based in Sandpoint and is a member of U.S. Club Soccer and IYSA. Our current rosters include players from Bonners Ferry, Clark Fork, Coeur d’Alene, Moscow, Post Falls, Pullman, Sandpoint and Spokane.
Our players receive professional coaching on a weekly basis from director of player development, Ray Smith. His experience in coaching includes stints as an NCAA Division I and III level head coach, as a Midwest Regional team head coach with U.S. Soccer, as Idaho’s state director of ODP and as a club director and head coach. As a head coach, his teams have won 14 Championships. As a club director, his teams have won 58 tournament championships, and 37 of his players went on to play at the college level.
