Coach showed poor form
On Oct. 5, my 8-year-old granddaughter attended a cheerleading camp at Sandpoint High School.
When she first found out she was going she could hardly sleep. She was so excited she told everyone at school and her family that she would be showing off what she learned at the Friday night football game. After an hour-and-a-half, she learned that because only two little girls showed up the coach decided that it wasn’t worth her time and cancelled the class. What wasn’t worth your time? Teaching two little girls about the value of sportsmanship and teamwork or that two little girls are worthless? You didn’t even have the courtesy to explain it to the girls yourself. You told their mothers and made them the bad guys. You didn’t have to watch the tears flow down her face as she cried all the way home.
I have always had a bad taste in my mouth for cheerleaders but I have kept it to myself. But now thanks to you it’s generational.
