COEUR d’ALENE — Goalkeeper Tanner Horton had six saves to lead the Timberwolves past the Bulldogs in a nonleague match at the Irma Anderl Soccer Complex.

“I was a lot happier for the guys today than on Monday,” Lake City coach Chad Beadell said, alluding to Sandpoint’s 4-1 win. “This was our third match and my guys gave me everything they had today — all 19 guys. Our guys off the bench played huge minutes. It was a great and amazing team effort for this point in the season.”

Luka Zirotti, Chris Wheelock and Luke Barrette had second half goals for Lake City (2-1).

Kanyen Bauer returned from an injury at keeper, stopping three shots, and the Bulldogs (4-2-1) managed six shots on goal in defeat, well below their season average.
