Duane attended grade school at Colburn, in a two-room school. Duane’s mother also attended this school as did his grandfather, John Oliver. Duane graduated from Sandpoint High School, and was a logger and a carpenter. He worked in several states including Hawaii and Alaska. He often referred to his life as “***living like a King.”

Duane wintered in Arizona and spent summers at his home, part of the family farm on Selle Road. He loved his property where he accumulated everything he ran across.

Duane is predeceased by his mother, Opal, in 2002. Duane’s father, Alvan “Bud” Finney, survives him and lives on his parent’s family farm on North Boyer, where they settled in 1935. Also, surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. History and family were important to his surviving family.

Family and friends are invited to sign Duane’s online guest book at www.coffeltfuneral.com.
