Pat E. McCrum, 89

Pat E. McCrum, 89, passed away on Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at his home in Sandpoint, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara J. (Ulrich) McCrum, 88, on July 11, 2010. Pat passed away on their 66th wedding anniversary.

Pat was born on March 17, 1921, in Robsart, Saskatchewan, to Harvey and Grace McCrum. The family moved to Sandpoint in 1924. Pat graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1939.

Pat and Barb moved to Seattle for a short time during World War II while Pat was stationed there in the Coast Guard. Other than those few months in Seattle, Pat lived in Sandpoint. He retired from Pacific Power & Light after 33 years. He was a life time member of the Elk’s Lodge.

Pat along with Barb, loved to entertain friends and relatives and were known for their brisk walks around town. He enjoyed huckleberry picking with family.

Pat is survived by his sons, Rick (Linell), Tim (Robbin) and Mick (Cheri Jo), and his sister-in-law, Margaret Bergstrom, all of Sandpoint; and his sister, Maxine Branson and brother-in-law, Verly Branson of Lewiston, Idaho. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brian (Tami) McCrum of Sandpoint, Tara (Jed) Brady of Mesa, Ariz., Matt (Brittany) McCrum of Soldotna, Alaska, Jared McCrum of Lake Tahoe, Calif., and Ryan McCrum of Sandpoint and his step-grandchildren, LeAnne Catala of Maui, Hawaii, Amanda Catala and  Garrett Hall of Sandpoint. Pat is survived by three great-grandchildren, Kaden Brady of Mesa, Marlee McCrum of Sandpoint, and Khole Brandy of Mesa, as well as numerous nieces and nephews from Idaho, Washington, and Montana.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Dort McCrum and Joyce Jones; and his brother, Hap McCrum.

 Family members invite friends, neighbors and relatives to join us in a celebration of Pat’s life at the Elks Lodge, 30196 Highway 200, Ponderay, on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, from noon to 5 p.m.
