CLARK FORK — Great teamwork and some scrappy defense helped lead Clark Fork to a straight set 25-13, 25-22 and 25-20 win over Kootenai in North Star League volleyball Tuesday night in Clark Fork.

Mariah Miller posted nine kills, 13 digs and six aces to lead the Wampus Cats (8-2, 6-0 NSL), who remain undefeated in league play. Claire McMahon added five kills and seven digs, Celeste Komanec 19 set assists, Dimi Kailang eight digs and two blocks and Zara Palmer six aces for the Cats.

“They were doing it right tonight on defense,” said Cats coach Michelle Adams. “Staying low, getting the passes up and playing scrappy.”

Brie Benson tallied four kills and three aces, Olivia Kincheloe nine digs and Anna Parker six set assists in defeat for Kootenai (1-6, 0-6 NSL).

Clark Fork hosts Coeur d’Alene Charter on Thursday.
