Writer was wrong to make false accusation

| April 7, 2011 7:00 AM

My name is Hope Bauer and I recently read the letter about the teachers at Lake Pend Oreille High School brainwashing students. That statement could not be further from the truth. That may be your opinion but you don’t attend this school and it’s wrong for you to make such an accusation.

These teachers here are the friendliest and most caring teachers teachers I could ever imagine. They are trying, we are trying and you make a statement like that. It feels like a slap in the face to all of us. I am speaking on the behalf of myself and everyone I brought this up to — your accusation is false. These teachers do the best they can to help us get ready for the “real” world.

I have learned more in this school than I learned going to Sandpoint High School. We students are happy with the education we are receiving.

The online classes people think it is going to be good for kids. It is horrible because you are not getting the one-on-one focus you need. Teachers are what keep kids going and it’s wrong to make them seem like the bad guys when, in reality, they are the main good guys in our lives.
