More thoughts about local issues

| April 14, 2011 7:00 AM

At this writing the politicians in Boise have put finished their gutting of Idaho schools for this year. Now it sounds like they have mandated the local school boards to finance something that is pie-in-the-sky and untested. In the future we will be seeing high school students following their teachers to a different state to get a diploma.

So now we are going to get another bypass — or is it going to be another byway?

Kody Van Dyk says he has no preconceived ideas about how it will look. The Idaho Transportation Department says the rights of way have already been purchased. I don’t recall their asking for public input before they purchased those rights of ways. Did I miss something?

My last letter subject was computers and what they cannot do. One thing I left out was: Computers do not know how to hyphenate a word at the end of a sentence. And speaking of my last letter, did you all notice the errors? The computer did not catch them, but they were there.

I just heard a new theory on the TV news that I think is the root of our problem. It is the government! The government is bombarding us with electronic waves and causing us to do all sorts of weird things. It interferes with our speech, our thinking and who knows what else.
