Wallace defeats Clark Fork
CLARK FORK — Ty Beard and Brock Arthun each scored 10 points to lead the Miners to a 52-22 North Star League road win over the Wampus Cats Saturday night at Clark Fork High School.
The Miners (6-9, 4-2 NSL) exploded for 20 points in the third quarter to blow the game open against the icy shooting Wampus Cats (4-9, 1-6 NSL), who struggled offensively all night to the tune of 16 percent shooting.
“We played good defense the whole game, but you’re not going to win too many games shooting 16 percent. Our shots that we miss are shots we make every day in practice,” lamented Cats head coach Corey Vogel. “Wallace is pretty big and strong, but we held our own on defense.”
Stillman Berkley led Clark Fork with nine points, 11 rebounds and four assists, and freshman Zach Nesbitt pulled down eight rebounds in defeat.
Clark Fork hosts Kootenai on Tuesday.
