Trooper has accepted responsibility for action

| February 10, 2011 6:00 AM

On Feb. 3, I read a letter to the editor from Mike Stevens of Clark Fork and the only thing he had right was calling Jeff Jayne a “super trooper.”

He claimed this moose incident would be swept under the carpet … Hey Mike, the same paper had a story on the matter on the front page. That’s not under the carpet to me.

You also claim that 80 percent of his cases were bogus. I’d like to know where in the heck did you get that information. Did you bother checking the court records? Part of Super Trooper Jayne’s job is to stop speeders and issue tickets. That’s what you are paying him to do.

As for his case involving the moose, the courts will decide if he woke up that morning and said “Honey I think I’ll go poach a moose.”

I know Super Trooper Jayne and there is no doubt in my mind that the whole thing was a big mistake on his part and he is the one who has to face the drums. Before I go, there is one question I’d like to ask you, Mike, have you ever forgotten anything in your life? Just curious.
