Cramer's throw leads to second MMA win

KAMIAH — Two fights, two big time throws for Sandpoint Mixed Martial Arts fighter Sheldon Cramer, who won by a first round submission on Saturday at the Living Guilty 4 Valentine’s Massacre in Kamiah.

Cramer, a heavyweight who fights for 11th Commandment MMA, ran his record to 2-0 with a dominating win over Team Nez Rez’s Anthony Ramirez, who tapped out after a choke at 1:25 in the first round.

Cramer landed a left jab, then a straight right hand when the fighters were still standing up, before picking up the much bigger Ramirez and slamming him to the mat, a move he also executed in his first fight in Sandpoint.

“Sheldon is so frickin’ strong,” said fight organizer and 11th Commandment owner Jesse Eller. “I don’t understand how a guy can pick up another guy who is 300 pounds and suplex him.”

Sandpoint 11th Commandment fighter Lukas Carson (2-0) had his main event canceled after his opponent came in 16 pounds overweight. An angry Carson confronted his would-be opponent after the match, and a grudge match fight is in the works for March.

“Luke jumped in his grill. I thought they were going to go at it right there,” described Eller. “Luke is going to gain weight and the two will meet as the main event grudge match at the next event.”

Sandpoint independent fighters Johnny Lee, Soyer Swartz and Carl Jones each lost by submission.

Many of the Sandpoint fighters have taken a little time off to train after some tough fights in Sandpoint on Jan.8. Tim Pepperdine, Kyle Fredricks, Ben Palmer, Cliff Phelps, Carson and Cramer are slated to be in action in a tentatively-scheduled mid-March fight card in Lapwai.

“A lot of the guys wanted time off after the Sandpoint show,” said Eller. “It was a real eye opener. Once you start fighting guys who are legitimate, you need to train more than two days a week.” “www.11thcommandmentmma.com.”
