Levy will help our children succeed

| February 17, 2011 6:00 AM

I am a parent with two children attending the Lake Pend Oreille School District. My oldest child attends Northside Elementary in the sixth grade while my younger child attends Kootenai Elementary in kindergarten.

As a parent, I am concerned about the upcoming levy and what problems we face if it does not pass. There could be larger class sizes, limited access to computers and technology along with less athletic programs.

I want the best education for my children so they may grow up to be bright, educated leaders some day. Our children are our future. I don’t believe there should be a levy put in place to decide the cost of educating our children. You can’t put a price on that.

I’ve watched our school district do their best to offer what resources they can along with the PTA doing everything it can to help fund programs and educational field grips. When it comes to my children, I want them to succeed. I believe my children and your children deserve that chance. Please help our children succeed.
