True regulation is needed on utilities

| February 18, 2011 6:00 AM

Yes, we change our name from Washington Water Power to — think of something that sounds sweet like Dior or Chanel and just for the cachet so we can prepare to repackage our energy product and make it into a luxury item.

Let them all pay through the nose — what choice do they have, especially in the winter? The poor? No matter. We’ll work them up a nice “comfort payment” gimmick to soften the blow and let them think we’re not heartless or else they can go begging for heat assistance; they’re used to humility.

Regulation? What regulation? We’ve got the public utility commissions in our pocket. Hey those guys are among our best stockholders in Idaho. Get this … ha, ha … they set up workshops to discuss the fait accompli. Yeah, economize — turn everything off and sit in a cold, dark room. Ha, ha.

What do we call ourselves? Avista (A very insidious swindle taking all.)
