Nesbitt scores 13 in Wampus Cat defeat
CLARK FORK — Senior Nate Nesbitt scored a game-high 13 points to go with three steals, but a slow first quarter proved costly, as Clark Fork fell to the Priest River JV team 49-29 in boys basketball action Tuesday night at Clark Fork High School.
Stillman Berkley added four points and eight rebounds for the Wampus Cats (1-4), who managed just one point in a tough first quarter before settling in.
“I thought we played well from the second quarter on, before we got in foul trouble,” said Cats head coach Corey Vogel. “We calmed down and started running through the offense. When we were patient, things worked out just perfect.”
Sophomore Dalton Sommer led the Spartans with 13 points.
Clark Fork is at the Kootenai Quad tourney on Saturday.
