Winter Carnival offers a great 'Taste' treat

SANDPOINT — The Taste of Sandpoint, sponsored by The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce and supported by Dine Around Sandpoint, officially kicks off the 2011 Winter Carnival this week.

The annual community favorite will be held on Thursday with area restaurants, caterers, breweries, and wineries. Showcasing their finest dishes ranging from appetizers to desserts, as well as an assortment of wines and brews, this is the premier event to wine and dine at “bite-sized prices.”

With more than 15 participating businesses, you can savor the flavors and quench your thirst while at The Taste of Sandpoint. Enjoy delicious culinary samples from Bangkok Cuisine, Chimney Rock at Schweitzer, Eichardt’s Pub and Grill, Forty-One South Restaurant, Ivano’s Ristorante, Pend Oreille Pasta & Wine, Pine Street Bakery, Skeyes the Limit Catering, Tango Café, The Bistro Rouge, The Tunnel and Cookery, and Trinity at City Beach. Laughing Dog Brewing, MickDuff’s and Pend d’Oreille Winery will also be on hand with their finest brews and wines.  

The event will be held from 5-8 p.m. on the first floor of the Sandpoint Business & Events Center, located on the corner of Euclid and Pine. Tickets will be sold at the door, and prices range from $3 to $7 per sample.

The Taste of Sandpoint also marks the beginning of Dine Around Sandpoint, a month-long event where numerous area restaurants are offering meals and other specials for your dining delight. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at participating Dine Around Sandpoint restaurants and be entered into a drawing for prizes with the grand prize being a meal for two once a month for a year at participating restaurants.
