Controversy destroyed voters' belief in ethics

| January 20, 2011 6:00 AM

We, in Idaho’s third legislative district, have elected a man to office who says he supports the United States Constitution and then does all in his power to subvert it by trying to establish a private-for-profit currency system in contravention of the Constitution he swore to uphold. We have elected a man who says he is a Republican and then does everything he can to support the principals of the Constitution Party, not the Republican Party. We have allowed a man to represent us whose judgment dips lower than can be accepted by reasonable men but whose intelligence quotient is high. Why should the Idaho Legislature be asked to rescue us from our own inadequacy as voters? The answer is, because while pushing his paradoxical views, Rep. Phil Hart, R-Athol, has destroyed any belief we have in the existence of ethics in the Idaho Legislature.
