Left's use of shooting for politics is shameful

| January 20, 2011 6:00 AM

To Ted Wert, liberal ranter, in a recent Daily Bee. I grew up and raised my boys in Tucson blocks from the tragic events last week. My family has close ties with John Roll, a great guy who graduated from my school and worked with my brother-in-law in the county attorney’s office. My brother called me long before the story hit the airwaves, stuck in traffic trying to get home, and described what he knew at that point. It has been a bit surreal watching all the coverage in my old neighborhood, my family and I are devastated by this senseless act of violence.

To make all this worse the left has decided to make a political issue out of this atrocity carried out by a severely deranged young man with no apparent political motivation. Pima County Sheriff Dupnic is so out of bounds with his statements of the right rhetoric inciting this type of violence, that his re-election would be a joke. Supposedly honorable columnists, Democrats in Congress and the whole left-wing gang is jumping in and once again its Palin, Beck, O’Reilly, and Limbaugh stirring up the loons.

Well, guess what, you are not going to silence conservative voice, in the wake of the liberal agenda’s collapse, using the tragedy in Tucson to do so. What’s next, more government intrusive gun legislation? It’s shameful the left took this opportunity to score political capital on the backs of these poor victims.
