NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD AND OPPORTUNITY

FOR A PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING AN APPLICATION FOR A TIER I OPERATING PERMIT

PROPOSED ACTION: In accordance with IDAPA 58.01.01.364, the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) announces a public comment period and opportunity for a public hearing for TransCanada, located at 237 Samuels Road, Samuels, Idaho 83864, under Docket No. AQ-1101. DEQ proposes to issue Tier I operating permit No. T1-2010.0100.

PUBLIC HEARING OPPORTUNITY: An opportunity for a public hearing for interested persons to appear and submit written or oral comments may be provided if written requests are submitted to the undersigned on or before February 9, 2011. Hearing requests should include a brief statement explaining why a public hearing on the air quality aspects of the project would be beneficial.

The selected meeting site will be accessible to the physically disabled.

AVAILABILITY OF MATERIALS: The application materials, the proposed permit and Statement of Basis are available for public review on DEQ’s Web site at http://www.deq.idaho.gov.

SUBMISSION OF WRITTEN COMMENTS–ASSISTANCE ON TECHNICAL QUESTIONS: Anyone may submit written comment regarding the project and proposed action. To be most effective, comments should address air quality considerations and include support materials where available. Comments, requests, and questions regarding the public comment process should be directed to Faye Weber, Department of Environmental Quality, 1410 N. All information regarding this matter, current and future, including the issuance of the final permit and Statement of Basis will be available on DEQ’s Web site.
