Don't let the liberals destroy area's values

Being a volunteer seed to North Idaho from California, I’ve observed the two cultures, comparing how they have evolved. I think we do very well here in North Idaho.

On occasion I read in local newspapers how some enlightened intellectual wants to assist in the advancement of North Idaho. It typically includes describing the people as illiterate, dumb, backward-thinking, conservative, politically incorrect, and right wing. Having recently moved to North Idaho, I notice some distinctive differences, mainly the people. As Idahoans have stayed with their conservative American values, they have created an advanced society.

On the other hand, California, with its many enlightened intellectuals, is on a steep decline. Illiteracy is widespread, crime, gang violence, and racial prejudices are rampant. Incivility and disrespect toward others have become the norm. Rural areas as well as the cities resemble a third world country. Californians experience a continuous decay of the American culture. Patriotism and pride in the American heritage and traditions are increasingly being displaced as the American culture is being redefined. Though Idaho is being pressed to change, the American spirit here remains vibrant.

Underneath the liberals’ veneer of tolerance and acceptance is their diatribe with its message “you need to change.” This is tolerance and acceptance? This lie of liberalism is destroying the American culture. In California, the liberals created the problems, cultivated the problems and are now compounding them. Liberal policies put California on a decline. In North Idaho I find a quality of life I want to help preserve — not change or destroy. I appreciate the civility, attitudes, beliefs, manners, patriotism here that were once prevalent where I grew up in California. Creeping liberalism will ultimately undo the society around which it wraps its tentacles. Don’t lose the quality of life you have here in North Idaho — if you don’t stay diligent, it will happen.

Don’t be fooled by those who are drawn to your conservative way of life and then dig in to change you from your “backward ways.” For those of you who want to change North Idaho, try California first. The liberals have already done the work for you.
