Levy gives teachers a chance to help students

| March 1, 2011 6:00 AM

I have had the good fortune to interact with more than 3,000 young minds in this community since I started teaching science 26 years ago at Sandpoint High School. I feel lucky, to be sure, to have a job, and in particular, one that can be very rewarding with such great kids.

The tremendous support of this community over the years is deeply appreciated by this educator. The recent state drain on educational funds is leaving every community with tough fiscal choices. A successful levy vote makes long-range economic sense to those who think it through.

More importantly, it attracts quality teachers … one of whom might provide that elusive spark that makes a big difference in your child/grandchild/great-grandchild’s life. This levy is all about giving teachers a chance to make a positive difference.

Thanks for your consideration.
