Tips received in Larson hunt

| March 2, 2011 6:00 AM

SANDPOINT — The North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force is releasing new information regarding its efforts in locating a Bonner County man wanted on arrest warrants in two states.

The task force initially suspected Grant “Bear” Timothy Larson had fled to Canada with Marie Alicen Thompson with their infant, but now believe Larson is in the company of two other subjects.

Tips suggest Larson is in the Panhandle with a friend, 33-year-old Rok Tugmother Bass, and a female named Amanda (last name unknown), the task force said. The trio could be in the Coeur d’Alene area, possibly at a motel, a task force news release said.

Authorities said Larson is no longer using a white Toyota RAV4 with Bonner County plates.

Larson, 32, is wanted for a probation violation in a felony battery case in Bonner County and a second-degree robbery case out of King County, Wash., according to documents filed in Idaho’s 1st District Court.

Larson allegedly battered Thompson, 25, shortly after his release onto probation in the King County case in January. His probation in that matter was transferred to Idaho, although Larson failed to report to Idaho Department of Correction officials upon his return from Washington state.

Larson is a native North American with black hair and brown eyes. He’s 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 210 pounds.

Larson has a number of tattoos, including ones that say “Savage” and “Oso Tight” on his neck, the task force said.

Larson is on probation following his conviction in a 2008 battery case in Ponderay.

He’s on probation in Washington state for the strong-arm robbery and beating of an acquaintance in 2009.

Those with information about Larson’s whereabouts are urged to call the task force at (208) 666-5747 or Bonner Dispatch at 265-5525.
