Sandpoint girls host Soccer-A-Thon Friday

SANDPOINT — The Sandpoint girls soccer team will be hosting the 2011 Soccer-A-Thon fundraiser on Friday, March 18, from 6 p.m. to midnight at Farmin-Stidwell gym.

There will also be open soccer play available for $5, offered to any and all area soccer players from 6th grade to adult.

The Bulldog girls will be soliciting pledges, hoping to raise money for some of the hidden costs associated with playing soccer, helping make it affordable for everyone on the team.

The girls also have several other fundraisers planned, and are giving a portion of the profits to help a community service of some kind. The Soccer-A-Thon will also help with scholarships for local soccer athletes playing club ball. This is to make soccer affordable to all, no matter what their family income is.
