Bill would result in higher drop-out rates
This letter is in opposition to Luna’s education reform bill. I am a senior at Lake Pend Oreille High School and I believe that having students take online courses and giving each student a laptop is not right.
My junior year, I switched to an online school. I realized it is extremely hard to learn without teachers there to help you and answer any questions you have. Now that I am attending a real school with real teachers, my grades improved and I feel like I have learned way more than I ever could taking online courses.
If this bill does pass there will be many good teachers left without jobs and fewer kids graduating. Kids do not learn from looking at a computer screen. They learn from the teachers helping them step by step.
