NEWPORT, Wash. — A Pend Oreille County man was subdued with a Tazer on Thursday after barricading himself inside a trailer following a dispute with his landlord.

Estyl “Lee” Hall, 67, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault and obstructing law enforcement, the Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The incident happened shortly before 10 a.m. at 4154 Spring Valley Road.

Deputies were summoned to the trailer after receiving a report that Hall struck his landlord several times in the face with a closed fist. Hall allegedly greeted deputies at his gated driveway clutching an ax handle.

Hall was ordered to drop the handle, but he ran to a fifth-wheel recreational vehicle parked nearby, holed up inside and refused to come out. Hall’s wife arrived, but was also unable to coax him out, sheriff’s officials said.

Deputies gained entry at the back of the trailer, but Hall allegedly charged them while yelling “shoot me!” Deputies shocked Hall with a Tazer device and took him into custody.
