'Fast and Furious' is Obama's Watergate

| April 3, 2012 7:00 AM

The Obama administration’s using human suffering and murder as propaganda tools, coming out of congressional investigations of BATFE’s “Operation Fast and Furious..

The administration’s operatives encouraged, bankrolled and oversaw repeated felonies at gun stores and border crossings, with criminals smuggling firearms into Mexican drug-fueled criminal commerce.

The scheme was designed to substantiate the administration’s claim gun stores were a source for drug cartel firepower, Obama’s “under radar” approach to more gun restrictions. The operation was withheld from Mexican authorities and U.S. law enforcement and resulted in the murders of hundreds of Mexicans and U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry.

Emails boasting of secret gun traces propaganda value, public impact, from now resigned Arizona US Attorney Dennis Burke prove administration’s involvement and criminal conspiracy. Another Burke email to Obama-appointed Attorney General Eric Holder’s deputy chief of staff informing guns found at Terry’s murder were part of the operation confirms Holder’s knowledge and blatant lies to a congressional committee that he “casually had heard of operation.”

Another Justice Department official claimed Fifth Amendment rights, refused to testify to shield himself from criminal charges. Emerging documents show previous hostile Justice Department witnesses clearly lied to and misled the committee.

Committee investigators seeking 80,000 documents, received only 6,000 from the Department of Justice, with censors redacting most text in key emails/memos. Administration-wide stonewalling and cover-up may prompt committee to invoke a contempt of Congress charge against Holder.

If Watergate brought down Nixon due to massive cover-up, “Fast and Furious” is Obama’s Watergate. It must become a key issue in November elections. It’s much worse; after all nobody was murdered in Watergate.
