No wonder Ron Paul is worried about debt

| April 5, 2012 7:00 AM

A ream of paper contains 500 sheets and is about 2 inches thick.

Therefore, a stack of crisp, new $100 bills, 2 inches high, would contain about 500 bills and be worth about $50,000.

It follows that a stack 4 inches high would be worth $100,000 and a stack 40 inches high would be worth $1 million. A stack of $100 bills 40,000 inches or 3,333 feet high, would be worth $1 billion and a stack 3,333,333 feet, or 631 miles, high would be worth $1 trillion.

It would take a stack of crisp, new $100 bills 10,000 miles high to equal our national debt. Keep in mind, Mt. Everest is only 5 1/2 miles high and the average satellite is about 200 miles up. No wonder Ron Paul is worried!
