HAYDEN LAKE —  Big drops in scores were the order of the day for the Sandpoint boys golf team at Kraus Invitational held Monday at Avondale Golf Club.

David Currie carded an 89, but the surprise of the day was Christian Cook’s season-low 94, a 21 stroke improvement from his previous round. The boys team also shot a season-low 394, dropping 20 strokes from the previous week’s effort.

“Little by little, we’re getting better, and they’ve got great attitudes,” said Bulldogs coach Tom Tharp, noting the team played amid torrential rains. “Once again, the Bulldog Bench rain gear saves our bacon.”

The Bulldog girls played at Viking Ladies Invitational held at Avondale Golf Club, as Darby Scrimsher led the way with a 121.

The Bulldogs figure to start dropping scores more often once they start practicing at the Elks on Monday.
