County officials need to do the right thing

I am bothered by what I read in the Daily Bee about the stranded residents due to washout and Bonner County saying, “tough luck.” Bonner County has no problems with giving building permits and collecting taxes from these people. I believe Bonner County has an obligation to all residents in the county.

Bob Howard is just a mouthpiece for the county commissioners. I, and I hope others, will hold the county commissioners responsible for abandoning these people by remembering this when voting.

We need to elect people who will look out for the needs of all residents, especially during emergencies.

Of course, the county can do the right thing. It just might get them re-elected.
