Be respectful when offering viewpoints

| April 26, 2012 7:00 AM

The Daily Bee gives people the opportunity to meet fellow members of the community with the same or different viewpoints in a safe environment. My husband and I have met many nice people through discussions in the Bee.

Recently, the Bee has published a letter specifically naming a private member of the community who was personally attacking them. The Bee, in its paper and online form, should be a neutral place to share ideas, not a place for personal attacks. Being new to the area, I think it is appalling to be a part of a community that is so disrespectful to one another.

As a member of the community, I would like to see the discussions be a form of opinion and debate rather then personal slander. I would like to be proud of where I live and the people in my community.
