ELMIRA — A fire aboard a hay trailer snarled traffic on U.S. Highway 95 on Friday afternoon.

The highway was blocked in both directions while emergency responders extinguished the blaze. During the incident, Idaho State Police sent out a news release advising motorists to avoid the area if possible.

The fire broke out at approximately 3 p.m. about a mile south of the Boundary County line.
