SANDPOINT — Sandpoint served for the match in the fourth set, but was unable to close it out, ultimately falling 25-17, 22-25, 22-25, 27-25 and 15-12 to Lake City in a volleyball home opener Thursday night at Les Rogers Court.

Megan Rockwell led the Bulldogs (0-2) with 13 kills, Kennedy Search posted 42 set assists and three aces, Mariah Kluver 21 digs and Beth Lewis and Emma Liband each had two blocks in defeat.

“We had a few errors in tight situations and little things like that add up,” said Bulldogs head coach Karen Alsager, praising the play of Liband in defeat. “We have the hitting weapons if we can get the ball to the setter more than we are.”

Kylie Curtis had 18 kills, 13 assists and nine digs for the Timberwolves.

The Sandpoint JV notched its second win of the season.

Sandpoint is at Post Falls and Gonzaga Prep in a tri-match next Wednesday.
