Shopping district helps you 'get your jingle on'

SANDPOINT — The Sandpoint Shopping District is bringing out the glitz, putting up the lights and extending shopping hours for a convenient, sparkly, hometown holiday shopping season. This year, special sales events include “Get your Jingle on” and “Men’s Night.”

Get your Jingle on happens Friday, Dec. 14 from 4-8 p.m. Participating stores will roll out the red carpet with exciting specials, refreshments and in-store fun.

Men’s Night takes place on Friday, Dec. 21, also from 4-8 p.m. It’s an opportunity for guys to look for special help with items for everyone on their lists and there will be free gift wrapping. In addition, there refreshments will be served and there will be special deals.

Both events also feature collections for the Bonner Community Food Center. So bring non-perishable food items to donate to the food bank and receive extra discounts or prizes.

Unlike urban malls, Sandpoint’s specialty shops have local owners who work hard to find the right products and to display them in creative and unusual ways. It’s their way of sharing their personal passion with their hometown. And it has created a unique small town shopping environment that visitors notice and comment on.

To help shoppers, the city parking lot is free through December. Also, the SPOT bus runs hourly.
